Raether Distinguished Professor of American Studies and founding director of the Smart Cities Research Lab and at Trinity College-Hartford and author of In the Shadow of the Ivory Tower: How Universities Are Plundering Our Cities.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConvened by the WashU Department of African and African American Studies and the Center for the Humanities\, this Sawyer Seminar explores how Black studies can sustain academic freedom and help reimagine democratic higher education.
