Lara Caldie is the Communications Specialist for the “In St. Louis, For St. Louis” Initiative and Confluence Collaborative for Community Engagement at WashU. In her role, she supports the missions of both offices through social media, newsletters, website management, graphic design and original storytelling.
Previously, Lara served as Communications Specialist at WashU’s Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement. An avid gardener and environmentalist, Lara has worked at various ecological nonprofits and small businesses in the St. Louis region since 2013. She also served as the founding Marketing Director for Maypop Coffee & Garden Shop (now Maypop & the Marshall House), where she led brand stewardship, developed educational programming, and built a substantial digital following.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications and Environmental Documentary from Indiana University.
