Deb Huber was one of 12 incarcerated women to earn an associate of arts degree through Washington University’s Prison Education Project this school year. They’re the first women to receive degrees through the program, which graduated its first class in a men’s prison in 2019.
Washington University names head of new public health school
Washington University on Monday named noted epidemiologist Dr. Sandro Galea as the inaugural head of its planned School of Public Health, effective Jan. 1. The new school, part of the university’s 10-year strategic plan, was announced in October 2022 and is WashU’s first new school in 100 years, officials said.
