The Longevity Opportunity: Reimagining Work, Purpose, and Connection in a Multigenerational Society

The 25th Annual Friedman Lecture will feature keynote speaker, Cal J. Halvorsen, PhD, MSW, Senior Fellow, Harvey A. Friedman Center for Aging, Associate Professor, at the Brown School and School of Public Health at WashU. Sometime around 2021, Missouri joined the list of states with more people over the age of 62 than under 18, echoing a trend in population aging across the U.S. and the world. Illinois passed this milestone around 2024. During the lecture, Dr. Cal Halvorsen, will share recent research on the importance of continued employment, volunteering, and intergenerational initiatives as we age.

This event will also briefly honor the awardees for the Harvey A. and Dorismae Hacker Friedman Award, the Alene and Meyer Kopolow Award and the Mark S. Wrighton Graduate Student in Aging Research Award.

This annual event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Light breakfast will be provided for all attendees.
