WashU is proud to present Thursday Nights at the Museum, a weekly series featuring thought-provoking programming, extended museum hours, and activities.
Anna the Wolf was born at St. Louis’s Endangered Wolf Center on Earth Day 2001, the progeny of two of the last five wild-born Mexican gray wolves that were found after the species was declared extinct in 1980. Anna would go on to birth 41 pups in four separate litters, fundamentally changing the course of her species’ survival. Celebrate Anna’s legacy with a panel of experts who will discuss their roles in wolf conservation and the status of wolves in Missouri today. The program will also feature a special video introduction from Joel Sartore, the National Geographic photographer whose image of Anna appeared on the cover of the magazine and was projected onto the Empire State Building.
Presented in collaboration with the Endangered Wolf Center.
